S.K.R GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE

Sannapureddy Krishna Reddy Govt. Degree College, Gudur, affliated to Vikrama Simhapuri University, was established in 1965 to provide quality education to the rural poor students. The college was assessed and re-accredited at B level by NAAC, Bangalore in November-2014.

The college is presently affiliated to Vikramasimhapuri University Nellore. As per the University academic schedule, the academic year started on 05-06-2018. Following the schedule all the departments have been involved in planning and preparing post accreditation activities for the academic year 2018-2019, in order to sustain and improve its quality in curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities.

At present 17 lecturers are working in the college out of whom 10 are regular lecturers and the others serving on part time , contract and guest basis. Out of 10 regular lecturers, Four of them including the Principal possess Ph.D degrees and three are M.Phill degree holders. As a team, all the teaching staff members strive to achieve the vision and mission of the college.

Sannapureddy Krishna Reddy Govt. Degree College, Gudur was started in 1964 as the pioneering community project of Rotary Club, Gudur. Sannapureddy Krishna Reddy was the major donor to the establishment of college by donating Rs. 1,20,000/- and thus the college was named as Sannapureddy Krishna Reddy Government Degree College, Gudur. The college took shape with the help of donantions from local Mica business people and members of Rotary club. Nearly 100 acres Land given by the local farmers of Gudur Town freely donated and registered.
